The idea for Fantastic Cat began shortly after DiLego and Montali met backstage at a popular, New York City club. The two hit it off almost immediately and began chatting, drinking and conjuring up project names.
DiLego was enthusiastic about introducing a third and fourth member. He was intent on adding a little extra spice into the mix. He was also excited about a band of passionate singer/songwriters who would write and record original tunes to inspire and uplift audiences of all ages. The thought of each member bringing a unique element to the table appealed to Montali as well.
A waitress strolled into the room and DiLego casually asked, “if you were about to form your own band, what would you name it?” The waitress remarked, “I’d name it Fantastic Cat,” without hesitation. DiLego and Monteli were sold from that moment forward and began searching for the missing pieces of their musical puzzle. Within weeks, D’Amato and Dunne arrived at a studio to bring the magic to life.
The group is well-regarded for their single “Fiona.” Although the score was written by a folk singer, the cover tune gained Fantastic Cat popularity within the music industry. Fantastic Cat tickets offer the best in live entertainment today.
