The team’s colors are black, blue and white and the team holds its home games at the Scheels Arena, formerly called the Urban Plains Center or UPC, in Fargo, N.D.

The city of Fargo, N.D., was granted a USHL team, intended to be an anchor team for the Urban Plains Center, which was being built at the time, in 2007. Dean Blais, former coach of the North Dakota Fighting Sioux became the team’s first coach and general manager. The team name Force was the result of a name-the-team contest.

In the playoffs, the team beat the Omaha Lancers 3-0 in the quarterfinals as well as also shutting out the Lincoln Stars 3-0 in the semifinals to make it to the Clark Cup Finals.

The team continued their success in making it to the finals in 2009 and in 2012. But it was not until the 2017-18 season that the team won its first Clark Cup Finals, beating the Youngstown Phantoms 3-1.
