Before it was called Flasher, the band had a few different names. Two members of Flasher met in high school, and are Emma Baker and Daniel Saperstein. These two musicians went by the band name Sad Bones. The third member of Flasher is Taylor Mulitz, who met Baker and Saperstein in 2007. A few years after meeting each other, Baker and Mulitz created the band Young Trynas with Eva Moolchan. After replacing Moolchan with Saperstein, Flasher was finally formed.

Dance and fall in love with amazing indie music by picking up Flasher tickets. With the trio finally together, Flasher began recording and touring. In 2016, Flasher released their first EP called Flasher with the help of the record label Sister Polygon Records. For their next album, Flasher worked with Domino Recording Company to release their first full-length studio album called Constant Image in 2018. Although the album was well-received by critics and fans alike, Flasher started to butt heads. After announcing the release date of their second album Love Is Yours, Flasher announced that Saperstein had left the band.
