Since 2019, the band’s members included Justin Ennis, Peter Svoboda, Sean McGrath and Ross Sewage, though the lineup has undergone several changes. The band plays their live shows in masks, playing the characters Dissector, Digestor, Fermentor and Cremator, mutants from the fictional town of Creepsylvania. Many of the past and current members have played with high-profile metal acts like Morbid Angel, Exhumed and Wolves in the Throne Room.
Playing a unique blend of thrash metal and hardcore punk, the band’s lyrics often revolve around the lives of a litany of characters from Creepsylvania. At turns humorous and aggressive, Ghoul has developed a cult following for their interactive live shows and storied lore. Ghoul released their debut album We Came for the Dead!!! in 2002 through Razorback Records, then toured with shock rock groups Gwar and Cannibal Corpse. They have since played at prominent metal festivals like Maryland Deathfest and Chaos in Tejas.
