Experience a true hardcore punk band and get in the pit with Gorilla Biscuits tickets. The hardcore punk band Gorilla Biscuits was created in New York City in 1986 when Arthur Smilios found a fellow fan of the band Agnostic Front in Anthony Civarelli, who goes by the nickname “Civ.”
Their first gig was set up by members of the group Token Entry, and their drummer, Ernie Parada, sat in for the new act. When the promoter asked the name of the band, as a joke they answered, “Gorilla Biscuits,” a slang term for quaaludes, and the name stuck. The band released several demos, selling them at a local discount store.

Gorilla Biscuits released a full-length album in 1989 called Start Today, which became the first album produced on CD for Revelation Records as well as the biggest selling album in the label’s history. The group disbanded in 1992, with some members playing in the band CIV, named after Civarelli. The group first reunited in 1997 and then again in 2005. After Revelation Records released Start Today, the group performed a reunion tour. The band still performs sporadically.
