Government Cheese Concert Tickets
Consistently emerging from the fringe with their timeless sound Government Cheese tickets have been a best-kept secret for decades. Harnessing an entertaining indie rock style Government Cheese brings bright vocals, upbeat guitar riffs and a talented rhythm section for a sweet jam-band groove. Emerging out of the Nashville, Tennessee, area Government Cheese first came together around 1985. Taking influence from groups like R.E.M., The Replacements and Jason & the Scorchers, Government Cheese mix the 60s, 70s and 80s to make their distinctive rock & roll sound. The lineup of Government Cheese includes Tommy Womack (guitar, vocals), Skot Willis (guitar, vocals), Billy Mack Hill (bass) and Joe King (drums).
With a sound that can shift from radical to mellow in just a few minutes Government Cheese tickets bring a dynamic experience. The group loves to throw humor into their songs and their performances and has their history detailed in the book The Cheese Chronicles written by Womack. In 1989 the group released their first full-length album entitled Live! Three Chords, No Waiting. The two-side cassette includes songs like “Yellow Cling Peaches” and “Fish-Stick Day.” After releasing 1992s Government Cheese album, the group did not release another album until The Late Show in 2015, 23 years later.
