Their debut full-length, the self-titled Great White, dropped in 1984 and reached the Billboard 200 album chart. 

The late 80’s skyrocketed the band into full on fame. Once Bitten, the album featuring one of the band's biggest songs “Rock Me”, was released in June of 1987 and certified platinum by April 1988. The follow up album, 1989’s ...Twice Shy, saw even bigger successes for the group with their single “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” and the album reaching the top 10 in the Billboard 200 for the first time as well as being certified double platinum. MTV played a big part in the band's continued popularity, having regularly aired music videos for the band in the height of the rock band video. The band would release a handful of albums and singles while touring endlessly before disbanding in 2001. Lead singer Jack Russell would often tour in an iteration of the band through 2005 before the group got back together in 2006.
