He has toured throughout much of China, performing the music of Beethoven and Chopin, and won the Fourth International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. Zhang has made appearances at the 49th International Chopin Festival in Duszniki, Poland, and attended the Curtis Institute of Music in America, studying under the tutelage of Gary Graffman.
