Maloney’s 2011 self-released album Time & Pocket Change earned her a deal with Signature Sounds Recordings, which she signed the following year. She garnered her first serious attention in 2013 however, when a performance she gave alongside folk band Darlingside earned a positive mention from The New York Times. The following year she released the collaborative EP Woodstock with the group, which garnered significant critical acclaim.
In 2015 Maloney released her album Making Me Break, which featured contributions by Bill Reynolds, My Morning Jacket and The Wallflowers. The singer-songwriter has been praised by multiple publications for her earnest emotionality and hypnotizing nearly improvisational song structure.
