Hepcat is a Jamaican ska and reggae band, formed in California, whose debut album Out of Nowhere was released in 1993 with Moon Records, a ska label based in New York. Their follow-up album Scientific was released in 1995 on BYO Records.
The band signed with Hellcat Records, a subsidiary of Epitaph Records and then released Right On Time in 1998. The single “No Worries” off that album was a modest hit, scoring a hit on the Vans Warped Tour. After founding members Raul Talavera and Alex Desert left, the group released Push n’Shove in 2000, with Desert contributing vocals for two tracks.
Experience Jamaican ska with Hepcat tickets. The group would disband for a few years and then reform in 2003, rejoined by Alex Desert. Long-time member David Fuentes died in 2007, followed by guitarist Aaron Owens passing away in 2015. The group continues to perform infrequently at concerts and festivals.
The group takes its name from a cat once owned by Alex Desert named “Hep”, a term that arose in the early thirties, meaning an admirer of jazz, especially swing, or a person who was “hep” or a hipster. The group released a live album in 2011 called Live at the Whiskey a Go-Go.

Premium seating at venues like the United Center can cost more than $275 a seat, while standard tickets for seats in the upper levels of the arena can cost less than $75 a ticket.
