Butler University’s Hinkle Fieldhouse hosted the event before Banker’s Life Fieldhouse became the home of the IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament in 2000. Milan became one of the smallest schools ever to win the state tournament with an enrollment of only 161 students. They took down the much larger Muncie Central High School basketball team to take home the championship.
