She signed to the talent conglomerate JYPE and launched her career with the 2005 single “What Happened Tonight”. That song, as well as the follow-up releases “A ha” and “I Am a Fool” appeared on her debut LP My Sweet and Free Day which climbed to number 14. Her sophomore effort, 2007’s A Sweet Moment, featured the single “Sonata of Temptation” and won Ivy various industry awards.

Although she had appeared in a handful of movies by this point, Ivy began a career in musical theater at this time, scoring her first major part as Lois Lane in a 2010 production of Kiss Me Kate. That was such a positive experience that she took on the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago two years later, and won a Best New Actress trophy at the Korean Music Awards.
That same year she released the EP Interview and scored a top 5 hit with “Torn Heart”. Another EP, I Dance followed in 2013 and its title track gave her another top 20 hit.
