He was the lead guitarist of the Lincolns before launching a solo career, releasing ten albums and touring throughout the United States and Canada.
As a youth, after learning guitar, Sample earned extra money by giving guitar lessons. After performing with several Regina-based bands Semple moved to Toledo and became the lead guitarist for the funk and R&B band the Lincolns in the late 1980s for two years before returning to Regina to work on a solo career.
