Jackson picked up the violin in high school. He later moved on to the piano. Although he is known most for his powerful vocals, Joe Jackson got his stage name from audiences comparing him to the puppet Joe Piano. The Peanuts character, Snoopy’s “Cool Joe” character was based after Joe Piano.

Joe Jackson later went on to write and release classical music, showing the world that a good writer is not bound by genre. 19 studio albums and 5 Grammy nominations later, he is still creating new music for his fans.
