The Journeymen band was established by three artists known as John Phillips, Scott McKenzie, and Dick Weissman. Phillips and McKenzie have been playing music since they were childhood friends. They met Weissman later in life and were playing and singing together at clubs in Greenwich Village, N.Y. The trio decided to stay together and named themselves Journeymen. Their first debut as a band took place at the Gerdes Folk City nightclub. The Journeymen band soon signed a contract with Capitol Records thanks to their manager, Frank Werber.

The Journeymen band had great success with their self-titled first album, but the second one they released launched their musical career to the next level. Coming Attraction – Live was released following a show in Minneapolis. One of their most popular singles was known as “River Come Down.” A few more of their top singles included “Soft Blow The Summer Winds,” “Hush Now Sally,” “Don’t Turn Around,” and “Loadin’ Coal.” You can find the Journeymen performing at venues such as The Holding Company, The Cove Bar & Grill, and The Barn in Ramona.
