The Beets released a slew of popular albums through the Captured Tracks and Hardly Art labels before Wauters set off on his solo career in the 2010s.
Wauters released his debut solo album NAP: North American Poetry in 2014 but garnered the most attention through his sophomore release Who Me? the next year. Who Me? received rave reviews from critics, with several publications like Pitchfork praising Wauter’s ability to maintain a traditional pop rock style while seamlessly weaving together Spanish and English lyrics. He has since toured widely alongside high-profile artists like Foxygen, Mac DeMarco and Jeff Tweedy. One of his more recent releases is his 2021 album Real Life Situations, which has earned acclaim for its catchy riffs and confessional songwriting.
