King was born in 1979 in Atlanta and showed musical promise from a very young age. Encouraged by her father, she learned guitar and drums while still a child. King played in a number of bands while in high school, including with future members of the group Old Crow Medicine Show. As a student at New York University, she began developing finger-style techniques for which she would become famous.
King released her debut album Everybody Loves You in 2002 through Velour Records, which met with considerable praise for her skill at a young age. Following a 2003 appearance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, King signed with Sony Records to release her sophomore album Legs to Make Us Longer.
In 2006 the artist was included on Rolling Stone’s New Guitar Gods list, and the following year was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score for her work on Into the Wild. Kaki King tickets put you in front of the stage to see this seasoned singer-songwriter live.
