Kansas City Ballet Seating Chart
Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts has two main event rooms where you can view performances: Muriel Kauffman Theater and Helzberg Hall. Muriel Kauffman Theater is laid out like most theaters. The stage is front and center, the orchestra follows, then the Parterre and the Mezzanine. Behind and above those are the Grand Tier and the Balcony seats. Along the sides of the Parterre and Mezzanine seating are the upper/lower seating boxes for the Mezzanine and Grand Tier.
Helzberg Hall’s seating chart is relatively close to that of Muriel Kauffman Theater. Muriel Kauffman Theater can house up to 1,800 people while Helzberg Hall can fit 1,600, max capacity. Helzberg Hall is oval in shape and the stage extends approximately one-third of the distance into the Hall. This allows 40% of the seating either alongside or behind the orchestra. Muriel Kauffman Theater is designed to be visually striking, yet retain an intimate experience for both the performers and the audience. It was inspired by the great opera houses of Europe, which allows the audience to be seated vineyard-style in a semi-circle configuration facing the stage.
