The single from that album, Closest Thing To Crazy, hit Number 5 in the UK singles chart in the same year, and in 2004 the album went platinum. Building on these early successes, Melua embarked on a number of tours in Europe and the US, culminating with the release of her second album Piece by Piece in 2005. Another Number 1 album chart followed and the song Nine Million Bicycles became her first UK Number 1 single whilst the album itself went platinum four times.
