Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he got his first guitar as a Christmas present when he was ten-years-old and played drums in high school punk bands before moving to Brooklyn at 17 and throwing himself into the DIY, experimental music scene of the time. He played bass with psych-folk act Woods and formed The Babies with his roommate Cassie Ramone from punk girl group Vivian Girls, but after years of life on the road and the bustling chaos of New York, he moved to Los Angeles and found inspiration in the tranquillity and peace of the hillside neighborhood of Mount Washington. 

The stripped-back, lo-fi, delicate beauty of Harlem River gave rise to the increase in demand for Kevin Morby tickets.
