The band is made up of siblings Justin, Ethan, Abigail, Samuel and Melody, the youngest of whom is only thirteen. Lead singer Melody lends her smoky yet powerful vocals to the group to develop a signature sound they call “vamp metal.” The band takes its name from the Romanian word for “bat.”
The band formed when the siblings’ father, seeing their talent, encouraged them to play together. They then cut their teeth performing on the Santa Monica pier, where they quickly began drawing large crowds. After posting their covers of popular classic rock and heavy metal songs to social media, Liliac went viral online. Their overnight internet celebrity saw them make the rounds on national television, most notably on CBS’ talent competition World’s Best.
In 2019 Liliac released their first EP of original material, Chain of Thorns, which became a number one bestseller on Amazon’s Rock Music chart. Later that year they made their first North American tour, selling out the majority of their shows. They are currently working on their first full-length album.
