The band consists of Jim Rubush on guitar, Ben Mossman on bass, Oleg Terentiev on drums, Noah Jones on piano and Jay Hurtt on vocals. 

The band came together in 2017, though had undergone a small handful of unsuccessful incarnations prior to the formation of the current lineup. The members shared a vision of playing avant-garde rock music drawing on diverse influences such as Stevie Wonder, Nick Hakim and Hiatus Kaiyote. In 2018 they released their debut EP Familiar, which featured production by Jeff Lucci and Shane Woods of the band Mo Lowda. In 2021 Little Bird released their highly anticipated full-length album PROXIMA, an ambitious 23-track record that enjoyed viral success on several online streaming platforms. 

Little Bird has since earned rave reviews from publications such as Metro Weekly Magazine, which hailed the band for their sophisticated musicianship and heady mix of ambient, acid jazz and vintage soul elements.
