Despite its name, Little Texas was formed in Nashville, Tenn., in 1988. They achieved early success with their first album, First Time for Everything, in 1991. The critically acclaimed album featured the lead track, "Some Guys Have All the Love," which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.

In 1993, Little Texas debuted Big Time becoming the band's most successful album and included "What Might Have Been," which peaked at No. 2 on Country Hit, No. 74 on Billboard Hot 100 and No. 16 on Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks charts. In addition, the album featured "My Love," Little Texas' only song to secure the No. 1 position on the Billboard charts.

The band debuted six more top 10 hits throughout the 1990s and earned a gold certification for First Time for Everything. Additionally, the band received a double-platinum certification for Big Time and a platinum certification for the 1994 album, Kick a Little.
