He launched his solo career with the album Southside (2004) which went to number three on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and number eleven on the Billboard 200. Street Love (2007) reached number two on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and the 200, Lessons in Love (2008) topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and peaked at number seven on the 200 and King of Hearts (2011) went to number five on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and number ten on the 200 EP Tru (2016) hit number eleven on the Top R&B Albums Chart.
