Looped Play Tickets
Come prepared to laugh with Looped tickets. The play Looped was written by Matthew Lombardo and is based on real events concerning actress Tallulah Bankhead. The story takes place in the summer of 1965, with a slightly tipsy Tallulah trying to redub, or loop, a line of dialogue from her last movie, which was Die! Die! My Darling!
The first production was in 2007, as a New World Stages reading with Elizabeth Ashley starring as Tallulah Bankhead and Neal Huff as Danny Miller, the film editor who she has a battle of wills within the play.
Valerie Harper was pitched in 2008 by Matthew Lombardo. According to Lombardo, he had her in mind as he wrote the play. The play premiered that summer in the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, California. The feedback was that the first act was hilariously funny and the second act was very dark.
Experience a battle of wills with Looped tickets. Lombardo went back and rewrote the play, adding laughs to the second act and making it more cohesive. Harper returned to play Tallulah Bankhead again as the play was put on at the Cuillo Centre for the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida and at the Arena Stage of the Lincoln Theater in Washington D.C.
The play then was announced to play on Broadway and began preview performances at the Lyceum Theater on February 19, 2010, and premiered on March 14, 2010. It garnered rave reviews for Harper. The play has been redone in 2013, 2014 and 2019.
Looped Ticket Prices
Looped ticket prices vary for each production. Prices can vary depending on demand and depending on the city. A theatre ticket on Broadway will always be more expensive than a touring production. Seating arrangements also impact ticket prices. A premium orchestra seat close to the stage costs more than a standard balcony or upper-tier seat.
How much are Looped tickets?
Looped tickets for a premium orchestra seat have a price range of around $150-$350 per ticket depending on the venue. Stick to your budget with cheap seats in the back of the theater. A balcony seat will typically run $35-$55 each. Due to the size of the theatres on Broadway, ticket prices in New York can sometimes be 50-75% more than a touring performance.
