That is only where the sound begins for the group that started in 2012 forming in Nashville, Tennessee. Longtime friends Jay Rutherford (vocals, guitar) and Aaron “Mort” Mortensen (drums) moved from their hometown of Chicago, Illinois to start up the band. The rest of the group’s lineup eventually grew to include Gordon Persha (bass), Micah Hulscher (keys), Chuck Foster (keys) and Wojtek Krupka (guitar).
With a sound that brings back memories of the golden age of rock & roll, Los Colognes tickets are a modern trip to the past. As the group developed a better core for the jam band sound with 70s elements, more fans were drawn to their classic style. In 2013 the band released their debut album entitled Working Together. The album was critically acclaimed as tracks like “My Doorway’s Open”, “I Don’t Believe” and “King Size Bed” helped the group become huge locally. In 2017 Los Colognes released their third album Wave where they push into a transcendental sound with psychedelic vocals about legends of history.
