The band, founded by the husband and wife team of Dylan Hundley and Pablo Martin, describes their sound as “Harlem Punk Rock.” In addition to lead vocalist Hundley and guitarist Martin, group members have included bassist William X. Harvey, drummer Jay Mumford, keyboardist and percussionist Bruce Martin, along with Sergio Rotman of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Jay Dee Daugherty of the Patti Smith Group and Brendan Canty. All the songs have been written by Dylan Hundley and Pablo Martin.
Lulu Lewis released their debut EP, titled Lulu Lewis in 2017, which contained the top tune “All Just Pretending.” Their debut full-length LP was released in 2019, titled Genuine Psychic. Lulu Lewis has performed all over New York City at venues such as the Mercury Lounge, The Bowery Electric, the Manderley Bar at the McKittrick Hotel, The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, N.Y., among others.
