The inaugural head coach of the Macon Bacon was Danny Higginbotham, who served with the team until 2020. The team was led by Jimmy Turk in 2020 and Kyle MacKinnon in 2021. Kevin Soine now serves as both head coach and manager for the Macon Bacon.
In 2018, the Macon Bacon was named the Coastal Plain League’s Organization of the Year. The team has advanced to the league’s playoffs on two occasions, finishing as runners-up after a championship game appearance in 2019.
