Marren Morris signed with Columbia Nashville in September 2015 and got her first taste of critical acclaim with the 2016 album, Hero. The album was a hit with country music fans. It hit number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and the top spot on the Top County Albums chart. Marren Morris tickets were a hit when she announced The Hero Tour in support of the hit album. Marren Morris received four Grammy Award nominations in 2017.

In 2019, Morris formed the hit music group, The Highway Women, with fellow female country musicians Brandi Carlile, Amanda Shires and Natalie Hemby.
