After its initial season, however, the writers and choreographers pulled the work for revisions and rewrites. Retitled Marie - A New Musical in 2018, and then again as Marie, Dancing Still - A New Musical, the revised production finally hit the stage in 2019. This version, shown at the 5th Avenue Theater, has gained popularity and acclaim from audiences for its inspiring historical story.
