Farner’s career began in 1965 and the star has been going strong ever since. Farner has worked with a host of major and independent record labels including Capitol Records, MCA Records, Atlantic Records and Warner Music. In addition to his work with the multi-platinum recording group Grand Funk Railroad, Farner has collaborated with Terry Knight and the Pack, N’rG, Ringo Star and his All-Starr Band and his own, Mark Farner’s American Band. He has also worked alongside other greats in the music industry such as Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer and Dave Mason.
Farner’s most recognizable work is the 1970s composition, “I’m Your Captain (Closer to Home).” He is also well-known for “Bad Time.” Several of Grand Funk Railroad’s singles have made it into the top five on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
Since Farner’s departure from Grand Funk Railroad in 1976, he released two solo albums, one in 1977 — his self-titled debut — and his sophomore, No Frills in 1978. Make it an evening of memorable music with Mark Farner ticket.
