Born in 1951 in Berkeley, Davis began playing guitar at the age of eight. Following her mother’s death when Davis was only 19, the artist decided to pursue music full-time.

In 1971 Davis formed the band The Warfield Foxes with friend and fellow musician Lisa Brenneis, relocating to Los Angeles to try to find greater exposure. By 1975 the group had changed its name to The Motels. They broke through to mainstream attention in the early 80s with their singles “Suddenly Last Summer” and “Only the Lonely,” both of which were top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

In the 90s Davis set off on a solo career, enjoying work developing the soundtrack for several films including Miracle Beach and Madhouse. Her film career saw her collaborate with high-profile artists including Charlie Sexton, Clarence Clemons and Kenny G. Since 2000 she has worked on the shows Countdown Spectacular 2, Hit Me, Baby, One More Time and performed as part of the Teatro ZinZanni.
