Martin Barre Concert Tickets
Rock out with Martin Barre tickets. Barre is an English guitarist best known as the lead guitarist of British rock band, Jethro Tull. Barre toured with Jethro Tull from 1968 until 2011. He also began a successful solo career in the early 1990s, recording several albums and touring with his own live band. In addition to shredding on guitar, Barre plays bouzouki (a popular Greek instrument), mandolin, flute and saxophone.
Barre began studying architecture at Coventry University (then known as, Lanchester Polytechnic) but did not further his studies after failing his Spanish and science courses which he claimed had little to do with designing buildings. Shortly after designing a road junction in England, he arrived at a conclusion: architecture was boring and would not allow him to pursue his passion for music.
Martin Barre moved to London in 1966 with saxophonist Chris Rodger and began auditioning for bands. He has backed soul artists such as The Coasters, the Drifters and Lee Dorsey. He has evolved through a smorgasbord of musical styles — everything from soul to R&B to pop. He has played at the legendary Van Dyke Blues Club in Plymouth and performed timeless solos blending virtuosity with classical music. The anticipation is building.
