Andy “Mushroom” Vowels also was a member of the group for the first few albums. Starting from a humble beginning as the Wild Bunch, a club scene partying collective. Ex-graffiti artist with rapping talents Robert Del Naja met DJs Grant Marshall and Daddy G and began collaborating. As a few of the originators of creative British sampling Massive Attack’s innovative sound is based on reggae, hip-hop, soul, and other more signature styles coming together over a fused-down tempo beat.

The combination makes for unique songs and concerts that have made Massive Attack tickets incredibly popular. Massive Attack’s debut album and 1998 release Mezzanine are both recognized on Rolling Stones list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Winning a Q Award for Best Album Mezzanine also features “Teardrop” one of the group’s most popular works. Lyrics like “Gentle impulsion, shakes me, makes me lighter, fearless on my breath,  teardrop on the fire” almost drop the listener into a state of meditation. Meanwhile, the instrumentals continue making eerie sounds that help you relax even deeper into the trance. Massive Attack continues to innovate winning multiple awards over their career including multiple MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Video.
