His Facebook page was flooded with concern but fans' worries were eased a year later when he announced that he had taken up the guitar again and had begun to practice two concertos that he would perform over the next couple of years.
His first three albums resounded around the world: 'Mediterraneo' (2011) went to number five on Billboard's Classical Albums Chart, 'Pasion' (2012) reached number two as did 'Aranjuez' (2014) with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and 'Blackbird: The Beatles Album' (2016) hit number seven. Before his injury, he received high praise for concerts in New York, London and Berlin and he played with orchestras in Chicago, Cleveland, Los Angeles and Philadelphia and all across Europe. He contributed music to the 2014 animated Japanese film 'When Marnie Was There', co-presented the 2014 BBC Young Musician competition and appeared on the Sky Arts show 'Guitar Star'.
