The current band consists of John Galvin on keyboards, synthesizers, piano, programming and backing vocals, Bobby Ingram on lead, acoustic and slide guitars and backing vocals, drummer Shawn Beamer, Tim Lindsey on bass and backing vocals and Jimmy Elkins as lead singer. 1978 marked the debut of Molly Hatchet’s debut studio album, Molly Hatchet, followed by a long list of other studio albums, live albums, a compilation of greatest hits albums and many released singles.

During the early years of the band, Molly Hatchet performed alongside some of the icons of rock including, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Santana and The Who. The current incarnation of Molly Hatchet is regularly touring both in the United States, the UK and the rest of Europe. One interesting fact about the origin of the band’s name, Molly Hatchet, it was named after a famous 17th-century ax murderess “hatchet molly” who would behead all her lovers.
