Contrary to other heavy metal genres, they typically utilize slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a significantly heavier sound, while also preferring clean vocals, which are often performed with a distinguishable sense of anguish, distress or gloom. It did not take long after their founding for the group to find success, releasing their first LP, Empress Rising, in 2014. The album was met with enormous acclaim, praised for its crisp production and its ability to create an immersive atmosphere for the listener. Their sophomore effort, Vaenir, would be just as well-received, earning the band an intense touring schedule both in Sweden and abroad. They would quickly cement themselves as prominent figures in the doom genre, with albums such as 2017’s Rust and 2019’s No Comfort becoming a favorite for heavy metal fans everywhere.
