The line-up would be Pierre as vocalist and guitar, Cain as lead guitarist, Jesse Johnson on the keyboard, Matthew Taylor on bass, and Tony Thaxton on drums. The group's debut album, I Am the Movie, was released in 2003 but the band didn’t really hit it off until their album, Commit This to Memory, which debuted in 2005. Since then, the band has released more albums and been on countless tours. 

Motion City Soundtrack has toured with bands like Relient K, the Wonder Years, and Say Anything. They have also performed at the Warped Tour and Riot Fest. While the band saw a breakup in 2016 to go their separate ways for a while, they have since gotten back together in 2019.
