Since emerging on the indie-folk scene in 2008 with his debut EP Brand New World, singer/songwriter and record producer Noah Gundersen (born on May 31, 1989, in Olympia, Washington) has released a vast oeuvre of music under various guises. Forming the short-lived band The Courage alongside his sister, Abby, in 2008, he made simultaneous strides with his solo career, scoring placement in the TV show One Tree Hill with his 2009 song “Middle of June”.

This paved the way for a slew of similar opportunities for Gundersen, including an Emmy-nominated original contribution to the Sons of Anarchy soundtrack which propelled him further into the spotlight. Citing folk-rock pioneer Neil Young and emo band Dashboard Confessional as key influences on his genre-bending sound, he independently released a self-produced debut album, Ledges, in 2014, signing the follow-up, Carry the Ghost, to Dualtone Records the following year.

After reviving his high school band, Beneath Oceans, under the name Young In The City and releasing two EPs with the group, Gundersen inked a deal with British indie label Cooking Vinyl ahead of his third album, White Noise, which explored heavier, rock-leaning sonics. After teaming up with Phoebe Bridgers and his sister Abby in 2018 for the eight-minute collaboration “Killer + The Sound”, Gundersen released his fourth solo album, Lover, in 2019 to positive reviews. He returned in 2020 with a series of acoustic versions and B-sides from the album, also recording and releasing the single “Ouroboros” during the coronavirus pandemic.
