When Valenti asked what happened to the guy in the song, Johnson dryly replied, “Oh he dead.” That line became their own personal joke and when they began booking gigs, it became their group’s name. 

With inspiration from rock bands like Fleetwood Mac and a common passion for jazz, Oh He Dead has developed its own personal style that combines pop and soul. The five members have worked hard to keep the music alive in person and over the Internet with a streaming show called Jammy Jams and gigs at venues like Union Stage and 9:30 Club.
