The Warriors were founded in 2019 as a new team in the North American Hockey League, and in their early years played out of Wichita Falls, Texas. Their name was chosen by way of a fan contest, and they recruited Garrett Roth of the Aberdeen Wings and Bismarck Bobcats as their inaugural head coach. In 2022 the Warriors relocated to Oklahoma City.

To date the Warriors have enjoyed significant success in the NAHL’s South Division, posting winning records in both 2020 and 2021. Both years they advanced to the South Division playoffs, finishing third in the division overall.
