A native of Chester, Nova Scotia, Luedecke is known for his work with Christine Fellows and Kim Barlow as part of The Pan-Canadian New Folk Ensemble. 

Luedecke fell in love with folk music at an early age, learning to play the banjo and write songs as a teenager. He then spent a number of years refining his signature sound that blends country, folk and bluegrass music. In 2003 he released his debut album Mole in the Ground, though he would garner his first serious attention for his 2008 release Proof of Love. Proof of Love earned Luedecke the Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year - Solo. 

In 2010, the artist released his eagerly anticipated followup album My Hands Are on Fire and Other Love Songs, for which he won his second Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year - Solo. In the years that followed, Luedecke collaborated frequently with high-profile artists Afie Jurvanen, Kim Barlow and Christine Fellows.
