Formerly known as the John Wayne Tennis Club, the club opened in 1974 and has 16 tennis courts. The Breakers played in Newport from 2003 to 2011, as the Newport Breakers. Orange County beat the Delaware Smash to win their first WTT championship in 2004. Newport also reached the finals in 2005 and 2006, losing to the New York Sportimes and Philadelphia Freedoms.
