Tony LaRocco, the lead singer and guitarist, is the founder of Pale Blue Dot. He studied music a Naropa University but drew more of his inspiration for the lyrics and songs from backpacking across the American West. Turtle Zwadlo has played the bass since he was 13. He has played for a wide range of bands from classical, to blues, to goth, to funk, to rock. Zwadlo also recently released his debut solo album Drunken Squirrel Diet. Darby Wooten has been playing drums for more than ten years and is an integral part of Pale Blue Dot’s recording process. And the quartet is completed by Dakota Slager who is a young, self-taught guitarist from Greene County, Va.
Pale Blue Dot released their first EP Anatomy in 2018, produced by Dave Stipe. The album is designed to be an old-school rock experience covering the spectrum of human emotion. They released their first full-length album in 2020 with the impressively titled Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species. This album continues their exploration, again with the help of Stipe, of old-school rock. Audiences can see this band live today with Pale Blue Dot tickets.
