Parade received widespread critical acclaim following its 1998 Broadway premiere at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre, in particular for its unique score which blends elements from folk, R&B and gospel music. Notable songs featured in the show include "Factory Girls," "Leo At Work" / "What Am I Waiting For?" and "Where Will You Stand When the Flood Comes?" The musical went on to enjoy a celebrated US tour in the early 2000s, where productions were directed by legendary artist Prince. In 2007, Parade made its UK debut at London’s West End and another Broadway revival was launched in 2023 with Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen) and Micaela Diamond (The Cher Show)in the respective lead roles of Leo and Lucille, his wife.
