The Princeton Tigers Men’s Hockey team played and won, by a score of 5-0, its first game in 1895 when the school was still named The College of New Jersey. In 1899 they joined the Intercollegiate Hockey League (ICHL) where they played against other Ivy League schools, including Harvard and Yale. By the early 1960s, the ICHL had disbanded and was replaced by the NCAA’s Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), a Division I conference. The Princeton Hockey team made their first appearance in the ECAC Tournament in the 1967-68 season.
