The origins of ProgJect started around Los Angeles after Jonathan Mover (drums) performed with Genesis tribute band, The Musical Box. Playing the classic songs inspired Mover to start his tribute band to play the hits of some of the best progressive groups of all time. In 2019, Mover started combing California for bandmates.
It did not take long before Mover had built out an epic roster and ProgJect tickets started showing up on the average rock fan’s radar. The rest of the ProgJect lineup includes Ryo Okumoto (keys), Matt Dorsey (bass, backup vocals), Jason Bieler (guitar) and Michael Sadler (vocals). With experience from groups like Brand X and Then There Were Three, ProgJect brings a talented roster to the stage. This is completely necessary for the music the band recreates with hits from groups like Pink Floyd, Rush and King Crimson. ProgJect puts on a two-hour show with songs like “Roundabout”, Heart of the Sunrise” and “Wish You Were Here” performed with pure passion.
