Puscifer is a rock supergroup made up of members Mat Mitchell, Carina Round and Maynard James Keenan, lead singer of the hit band Tool. Puscifer was founded by Keenan in 1995 as an improvisational hard rock band, originally performing under the name Umlaut. After years of rehearsals, Puscifer released their debut EP Don’t Shoot the Messenger in 2007.

Later that year the band released their first full-length album “V” Is For Vagina, which was a top 25 hit on the Billboard 200 and a number one hit on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. Songs from the album saw widespread use in film and television, most notably in the Jake Gyllenhaal thriller End of Watch.

In 2011 Puscifer released their sophomore album Conditions of My Parole, which featured a slew of high-profile artists including Devo Keenan, Jonny Polonsky and Sarah Jones. The album sold over 10,000 copies in its first week and reached the top 30 of the Billboard 200. Puscifer developed a reputation for their extended jam sessions during live shows as well as their avant-garde sound that combines elements from hard rock, electronic and hip hop music.
