Upon graduating high school, Midon attended the University of Miami for their jazz program.
After completing college in 1990, he began his music career as a session singer, working with artists like Shakira and Julio Iglesias. Later, he moved to New York City to begin a solo career. Midon’s debut album, State of Mind, came out in 2005 and contained a guest performance by his idol, Stevie Wonder. Since then, he has produced several more albums, been on the judging panel for awards shows and had his music be featured in movies. In 2017, Midon’s album Bad Ass and Blind was nominated for Best Jazz Vocal Album. His most recent album, The Mirror, was also nominated for a Libera Award for Best Jazz Album.
