Formed out of Memphis in 2001, Reigning Sound began with Greg Cartwright (guitar, vocals) as the frontman. That same year, Reigning Sound began their rise with the release of their three-track EP Two Sides to Every Man with their full-length album Break Up, Break Down a month later. None of the other original band members remained when Cartwright moved to Asheville, N.C., in 2004. After the move, Cartwright was joined by Benny Trokan (bass), Mike Cantanese (guitar) and Dave Amels (keyboards), composing a new lineup for Reigning Sound.
Moving between multiple styles of rock keeps the group fresh along with their passionate performances and high-energy jams. You can experience this band live with your own Reigning Sound tickets. The band’s sophomore release Time Bomb High School showcased more of their diversity with its leanings towards classic R&B. Once again Reigning Sound surprised on their third album Too Much Guitar which features psych-pop and country-influenced tracks. It is always entertaining to see what Reigning Sound will bring with eight full-length albums under their belt including A Little More Time with Reigning Sound (2021).
